ROTTERDAM – After a Thursday evening storm suspended action in the second half, Queensbury finished off a 16-12 victory over Niskayuna in the Section 2 Class B girls lacrosse final Friday, May 24, at Mohonasen High School.
The Spartans led 12-8 at halftime and held the advantage when lightning forced the game to be suspended less than 10 minutes into the second half. ROTTERDAM – Isabell Adams and MK Lescault led Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to a 13-5 victory over Averill Park in the Section 2 Class C girls lacrosse final Wednesday, May 22, at Mohonasen High School.
Adams and Lescault each tallied once to give the Lady Spartans a quick 2-0 lead. The Warriors got one goal back on a breakaway by Anita Reitano, but Adams struck again to make it a 3-1 game for BH-BL.
Adams finished with five goals and two assists, while Lescault contributed a hat trick and three assists for BH-BL, which won its third consecutive Sectional title and its first under head coach John Battaglino. Caroline Wise’s fifth goal of the game lifted No. 2 Bethlehem to a 12-11 overtime victory over No. 3 Saratoga Springs in the Section 2 Class A semifinals Monday, May 20.
The Lady Eagles led 6-4 at halftime and built a four-goal lead in the second half before the Blue Streaks rallied to tie the score at 11-11. Wise then tallied the game winner late in the first overtime period to propel Bethlehem into Wednesday’s Class A final.
Lindsey Ayres contributed three goals and two assists for Bethlehem, which defeated Saratoga Springs for the third time this season. Ella Payer had a five-goal afternoon for the Blue Streaks, and Lindsey Frank added four goals. GUILDERLAND CENTER – Three players accounted for 14 goals to lead No. 4 Guilderland to a 16-12 victory over No. 5 Shaker in a Section 2 Class A girls lacrosse quarterfinal game Thursday, May 16.
Amanda Nieman led the Lady Dutch attack with seven goals and four assists. Jamie Golderman contributed four goals, and Caitlyn Miller added a hat trick. Hannah Sharlow notched four goals for Shaker.

Bethlehem took a 4-2 halftime lead and held on for an 8-7 victory over Shenendehowa Tuesday, May 7, in a battle of two of the top Suburban Council girls lacrosse teams.
Lauren Riker struck for four goals to lead the Lady Eagles, who moved into sole possession of second place in the league standings. Lindsey Ayres and Paige Halliday each contributed a pair of goals, and goaltender Amanda Koch stopped seven shots.

Following consecutive losses to Columbia and Ballston Spa, Averill Park picked up a 21-10 victory over Colonie Monday, May 6, in a Suburban Council girls lacrosse game.
Julia Foster and Mia Tessitore each struck for five goals, and Anita Reitano contributed four goals and three assists for the Warriors. Julia Gelder added a hat trick and two assists.

Maddy Barnum led the Scotties with six goals, and goaltender Gia Burdick made 14 saves. Jordyn Ostrander and Sarah Rule both contributed hat tricks, and Sam DeVito chipped in with two goals and two assists.

The Niskayuna girls lacrosse team picked up an important Suburban Council victory by edging Shenendehowa 9-8 Thursday, April 11.
Sydney McPartlon notched a hat trick to pace the Silver Warriors. Peyton Reihs and C.J. Harvey each contributed a pair of goals, and goaltender Kara Banagan made 10 saves to preserve the victory.
