Whitehall jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in defeating Granville 43-29 Friday, Feb. 8, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Zoe Eggleston netted 11 points, and Jessica Moore added 10 points for the Railroaders, who completed the regular season with a 6-8 record in the league and an overall mark of 12-8.
Haley Corlew led Granville with 13 points, and Andrea Haynes added seven points.

Whitehall needed a big fourth quarter to defeat Corinth 46-42 Tuesday, Feb. 5, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Corinth outscored Whitehall 14-3 in the third quarter to turn a six-point halftime deficit into a 31-26 lead. The Railroaders stormed back, though, and limited the Tomahawks to 11 points in the fourth quarter to regain their advantage in the end. Whitehall used a 17-6 run in the second quarter to break open a close game on its way to a 46-24 victory over Fort Ann in an Adirondack League girls basketball game Thursday, Jan. 31.
The Railroaders shrugged off a slow start at the offensive end by limiting the Cardinals to four points in the first quarter. The second-quarter spurt allowed Whitehall to build a 26-10 halftime lead, and the Railroaders never looked back. Warrensburg’s balanced attack was too much for Fort Ann to overcome, as the Burghers pulled away for a 73-46 victory Friday, Jan. 25, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Three Warrensburg players reached double digits in the scoring column, led by Hope Boland’s 18 points. Megan Hughes contributed 17 points, and Abigail Ranous added 16 points for the Burghers.

Warrensburg remained the only undefeated Adirondack League girls basketball team with a 69-30 victory over Hadley-Luzerne Wednesday, Jan. 16.
The Eagles led the Burghers by one point after the first quarter, but Warrensburg (10-0 league, 14-0 overall) outscored Hadley-Luzerne 56-16 over the final three quarters to pull away.
Abigail Ranous poured in 23 points, and Megan Hughes contributed 20 points for Warrensburg, which entered the game ranked 10th in the New York State Sportswriters Association’s Class C poll. The Burghers are one of four Section 2 teams ranked in the top 10, with Hoosic Valley (No. 5), Cambridge (No. 6) and Maple Hill (No. 8) ahead of them.

After scoring one point in the first quarter, Whitehall outscored Granville 36-10 over the final three quarters to defeat the Golden Horde 37-20 Friday, Jan. 11, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Zoe Eggleston and Ashlyn Groesbeck each scored nine points for the Railroaders. Groesbeck hit three shots from behind the three-point arc.

Sydney Gagnon scored her 1,000th career point for North Warren, but Whitehall prevailed 57-49 Thursday, Jan. 10, in an Adirondack League girls basketball game.
Gagnon finished the evening with 17 points for North Warren, including three baskets from beyond the three-point line. Eliza Brown contributed seven points for the Wildcats. Lake George used a 17-6 run in the third quarter to pull out a 44-39 victory over Whitehall in an Adirondack League girls basketball game Friday, Dec. 7.
Graceann Bennett netted 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds to help Lake George even its league record at 1-1 and improve its overall record to 2-1. Mikayla Duffy chipped in with nine points and six boards.
Zoe Eggleston had 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Whitehall, which outscored Lake George 19-13 in the fourth quarter to make it a close game at the end. Hailey Taylor contributed 11 points and three rebounds, while Jess Moore and Olivia Gomes each added six rebounds. Moore also had eight points.
