Boys golf: Albany Academy cruises past Catholic Central

Albany Academy defeated Catholic Central 153-210 in a Colonial Council boys golf match Thursday, Sept. 5, at Frear Park in Troy. Aidan Fitzgerald led the Cadets with a nine-hole round of 34.

Catholic Central started the season with a pair of victories, including a 185-284 win against Cobleskill-Richmondville on Aug. 28. Jack Mattfield led the Crusaders with a round of 41.


Saratoga Springs’ Nolan Crowley places seventh at state golf championships

Saratoga Springs’ Nolan Crowley carded a two-day score of 151 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys Golf Championships Monday, June 3, at the Robert Trent Jones Course on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca.

Crowley entered Day 2 in a tie for first place with Somers’ Nathan Han with a Day 1 total of 71. Han continued his strong play, carding a score of 70 to earn the state title, while Crowley dropped back after carding a score of 80.
