Watervliet scored the final five points of the game to defeat Lansingburgh 58-52 in a Colonial Council girls basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 8.
Raynelle Davis scored 13 points, and Makayla Milligan contributed 12 points for the Cannoneers. Autumn Anderson netted 14 points for the Lady Knights, who closed the gap to one point with less than one minute left in the fourth quarter. Patience Riley chipped in with 11 points for Lansingburgh, and Madison Teta added 10 points.
Elsewhere in the Colonial Council, Catholic Central pulled away late to defeat Voorheesville 48-42. Sarah Mattefield had 12 points, and Riqiya Harris added 11 points for the Crusaders. Albany Academy for Girls built a 19-9 lead in the first quarter and hung on for a 56-48 victory over Lansingburgh Tuesday, Dec. 18, in a Colonial Council girls basketball game.
Meleena Ottati netted 15 points, Sarah Richardson contributed 14 points and Aaliyah Juste added 13 points for Albany Academy for Girls. Madison Teta scored 16 points to lead three Lansingburgh players in double digits. Patience Riley had 14 points, and Autumn Anderson recorded 11 points.
Voorheesville defeated Mohonasen 57-48 in another Colonial Council clash. Olivia Barringer poured in 32 points for the Blackbirds, while Breanna Lott scored 16 points for the Mighty Warriors.
