Section 2 Class A girls soccer playoffs: Mohonasen shuts out Gloversville in opening round; Lansingburgh, Scotia-Glenville and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake advance

Liv Raucci scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead No. 6 Mohonasen to a 3-0 victory over No. 11 Gloversville in the opening round of the Section 2 Class A girls soccer playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Rotterdam.

Matti Muller also tallied for the Mighty Warriors, and Hailey Dunsmore contributed an assist.

Suburban Council girls soccer: Guilderland fends off Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake; Saratoga Springs gets past Columbia

Guilderland improved its record to 8-4-2 with a 3-2 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Tuesday, Oct. 9, in a Suburban Council girls soccer game.

All of the goal scoring came in the first half. Molly Dicaprio, Margot Nezaj and Lauren Conti tallied for Guilderland, while Raia James and Mollie Boone notched Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s goals. Suburban Council girls soccer: Shenendehowa defeats Saratoga Springs; Bethlehem knocks off Guilderland

The Shenendehowa and Bethlehem girls soccer teams kept pace with each other in the pursuit of the Suburban Council Blue Division title with victories Thursday, Sept. 27.

Shen (6-1-2 league, 7-2-2 overall) shut out Saratoga Springs 1-0, while Bethlehem (7-1-0) defeated Guilderland 2-0.

Sophia DeMura tallied late in the first half to give Shen its lead, and goalkeeper Jen Kirker stopped six shots for the shutout. Natalie Jillson had nine saves for Saratoga Springs. Suburban Council girls soccer: Saratoga Springs defeats Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake; Shenendehowa pulls away from Troy

Three goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation helped Saratoga Springs defeat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 5-1 in a Suburban Council girls soccer game Tuesday, Sept. 11.

After Katie Ramos pulled the Spartans within a goal midway through the second half, Ainsley Cumming struck for two goals in a six-minute time span to push the Blue Streaks’ lead to 4-1. Rory Taylor added an insurance goal with less than two minutes left in regulation for Saratoga Springs (2-0-2 league, 3-0-2 overall).
