Griffin King leads list of Section 2 boys lacrosse players named to All-State team

Several Section 2 athletes were chosen for the New York State Sportswriters Association’s All-State boys lacrosse team this week.

Niskayuna’s Griffin King received the highest honor for a Section 2 athlete, as the midfielder was named to the second team among large school division players. King was one of the leading scorers for the Silver Warriors, who won the Section 2 Class A title. Teammate Nick Fraterrigo was a third team selection on defense. Section 2 boys lacrosse: LaSalle rallies past Glens Falls for Class C title

LaSalle outscored Glens Falls 7-1 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 16-12 victory in the Section 2 Class C boys lacrosse final Friday, May 24, at Schuylerville High School.

Foothills Council boys lacrosse: Queensbury cruises past Scotia-Glenville

Queensbury scored the first eight goals of the game on its way to a 14-2 victory over Scotia-Glenville Thursday, April 11, in a Foothills Council boys lacrosse game.

Boys lacrosse: Ballston Spa’s defense shuts down Shaker in Suburban Council contest

Ballston Spa played well at both ends of the field to defeat Shaker 10-1 Tuesday, April 9, in a Suburban Council boys lacrosse game at Schuylerville High School.

Seven players recorded goals for the Scotties, and goaltender Gregg Dort nearly posted a shutout, stopping seven of the eight shots he faced. Lucas Bennice, Ethan Thomas and Demetri Yerou all scored a pair of goals to lead Ballston Spa’s balanced attack.
