Defending Section 2 Class A champion Mohonasen began this year’s boys basketball tournament with a 62-37 victory over No. 11 Catholic Central Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Rotterdam.
Duncan Tallman made four three-pointers and finished with a team-leading 21 points for the sixth-seeded Mighty Warriors, who jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first quarter. Chase Monroe contributed 12 points, and Shawn Gillisslee added nine points.
Jackson Brown scored 13 points for Catholic Central.

Messiah Mallory and J.J. Chestnut combined to score 39 points to lead Watervliet to a 68-53 victory over Cohoes Tuesday, Feb. 5, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
Mallory did his damage near the basket as he poured in 20 points, while Chestnut made five three-pointers on his way to a 19-point night for the Cannoneers, who pulled away in the second half.

Mohonasen overcame a four-point halftime deficit to edge Lansingburgh 59-55 in a Colonial Council boys basketball game Friday, Jan. 25.
Chase Monroe had 24 points for the Mighty Warriors, who outscored the Knights 21-14 in the third quarter. Shawn Gillisslee contributed 18 points, and Duncan Tallman added 13 points.

Watervliet went on a 19-9 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 61-47 victory over Mohonasen Friday, Jan. 18, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
J.J. Chestnut scored 22 points to lead the Cannoneers, who handed Mohonasen its first loss in its last eight games. Derrick Beason contributed 14 points, and Messiah Mallory added 13 points for Watervliet.

Watervliet fended off a fourth quarter rally to defeat LaSalle 69-60 Tuesday, Jan. 15, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
The Cannoneers went on a 22-10 run in the second quarter to take 34-26 halftime lead against the Cadets. Watervliet extended its advantage to 14 points in the third quarter before LaSalle made a late push to trim the deficit to under double digits.

Mohonasen outscored Catholic Central 23-9 in the second quarter to take control on its way to a 66-50 home victory Friday, Jan. 11, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
Duncan Tallman led four Mohonasen players in double digits with 15 points. Nicholas Richmond had 13 points, Shawn Gillisslee contributed 12 points and Logan Calkins added 10 points for the Mighty Warriors.

Duncan Tallman scored more than half of Mohonasen’s points to lead the Mighty Warriors to a 59-54 victory at Cobleskill-Richmondville Tuesday, Jan. 8, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
Tallman made three shots from behind the three-point arc on his way to a 32-point evening for the Mighty Warriors, who have now won their last five games. Drew Coelho added nine points.

Voorheesville went on a 27-11 run over the course of the second and third quarters to defeat Cohoes 51-35 Friday, Dec. 14, in a Colonial Council boys basketball game.
Ian Owens had 15 points, and Luke Palmer contributed 12 points for the Blackbirds, who did not allow a Cohoes player to break double digits in the scoring column. Ivan Brajac scored six points for the Tigers.
In another defensive battle, Lansingburgh fended off LaSalle 44-34. The Knights outscored the Cadets 10-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 10-point win.

TROY – Kingston (Section 9) won the Lansingburgh Thanksgiving Tournament with a 71-53 victory over the host school in Saturday’s championship game.
Brian Moore scored 27 points to lead Kingston’s offense. Isaiah Knight knocked down seven three-pointers as part of a 32-point night for Lansingburgh.
Shaker defeated Bishop Maginn 76-49 in the consolation game. The Blue Bison sank 11 three-pointers on their way to the victory.
