Shenendehowa used a 21-9 run in the third quarter to take control in a 60-50 victory over Ballston Spa Friday, Feb. 1, in a Suburban Council boys basketball game.
James Altenburger netted 18 points, and Jake Reinisch contributed 12 points on four three-pointers for the Plainsmen, who trailed 26-25 at halftime. Jayson Faizy drained six three-pointers as part of a 22-point night for the Scotties.
Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Bethlehem survived a scare from Schenectady and defeated the Patriots 75-70 to remain undefeated. Erik Salo scored 19 points, Justin Barnes chipped in with 17 points and Michael Ortale added 13 points for the Eagles. SCHENECTADY – Schenectady used a balanced attack to fend off Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 75-69 Tuesday, Dec. 4, in a Suburban Council boys basketball game.
Five players had double-digit point totals for the Patriots, led by Kareem Sanders’ 18-point performance. Chris Davis made four three-pointers as part of a 17-point night, while Kayshawn Cruz contributed 13 points for Schenectady. Lamar Fisher (12 points) and Jonon White (10 points) also had strong performances for the Patriots.
Alex Jameson poured in 30 points to lead BH-BL, which clawed its way back into the game after trailing by 12 points at halftime. Jameson drained six three-pointers and went 6-for-7 from the free throw line for the Spartans. Max Blowers chipped in with 14 points, and Jack Wyatt added 11 points for BH-BL.
