Boys soccer: Canajoharie wins wild WAC game against Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons

Canajoharie scored four times in the second half to pull out a 5-3 Western Athletic Conference boys soccer victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons Sept. 4.

Canajoharie took a 2-0 lead on a first-half goal by Brian Greenslette and a tally by Cody Haig early in the second half. ND-BG tied the score at 2-2 on goals by Connor Barber and Nick Gosh, but Alex Blanchard put the Cougars back in the lead with a goal. Haig struck for his second goal a short time later to notch the eventual game winner.

Boys soccer: Doane Stuart defeats Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in tournament

Joey DiPetra and Myo Pine each had hat tricks to lead Doane Stuart to a 9-0 victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons at the Stillwater Boys Soccer Tournament Aug. 31.

Pine tallied all of his goals in the first half to stake the Thunder Chickens to an early lead. DiPetra contributed a pair of assists to go along with his three goals, while Nelson Htoo added a goal and three assists in the victory. Section 2 Class C boys soccer: Top four seeds advance to semifinals

The top four seeds in the Section 2 Class C boys soccer playoffs advanced to the semifinal round with quarterfinal victories Monday, Oct. 22.

No. 1 Lake George (18-0-0) got past No. 8 Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 3-1, as Alex Leonelli, Ethan Knauf and Justin Blanco tallied for the Warriors. Lake George goalkeeper Mason Flatley had several saves, including a key stop late in the second half. Wil Lawson notched Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ goal. Wil Lawson leads Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons past Bolton-Warrensburg

SCHENECTADY – For the second time since it re-started its boys soccer program four years ago, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons has reached the second round of the Section 2 playoffs.

Wil Lawson’s hat trick led the eighth-seeded Golden Knights (11-4-0) to a 4-0 victory over No. 9 Bolton-Warrensburg in a Class C opening round game Thursday, Oct. 18, at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School.

Western Athletic Conference boys soccer: Schoharie defeats Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons; OESJ blanks Canajoharie

Schoharie pulled away in the second half for a 6-2 victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons Monday, Sept. 24, in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer game.

The game was clouded by a injury suffered by ND-BG goalkeeper Cole Nelson when he hit his head against the far post while stopping a Schoharie shot in the second half. The Indians struck for two insurance goals following Nelson’s injury to create their margin of victory.
