Baseball: Niskayuna walks off against Colonie in Suburban Council battle

Jacob Hand’s RBI single capped a three-run seventh inning rally for Niskayuna in a 4-3 victory over Colonie Saturday, May 18, in Niskayuna.

Colonie scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-1 lead, only to see Niskayuna tie the score on Aaron Whitely’s triple. Hand then singled in Whitley to give the Silver Warriors their 11th Suburban Council victory of the season.

Sam Morra earned the complete-game victory for Niskayuna, scattering seven hits and striking out 10 batters. Patrick Reilly suffered the loss for Colonie, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing nine hits against six strikeouts. Suburban Council baseball: Nick Szesnat pitches Shaker past Shenendehowa

Nick Szesnat tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Shaker to a 6-0 victory over Shenendehowa Wednesday, May 8, in a Suburban Council baseball game.

Suburban Council baseball: Jake Reinisch’s RBI double lifts Shenendehowa past Columbia

Jake Reinisch hit an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Shenendehowa a 4-3 victory over Columbia Monday, May 6, in a Suburban Council baseball game.

The Plainsmen took a 1-0 lead on Ben Lavery’s RBI single in the bottom of the third inning, but the Blue Devils plated three runs in the top of the fifth to pull ahead 3-1. Ryan Strevell plated the go-ahead run for Columbia with an RBI single.
