No. 3 Maple Hill advanced to the Section 2 Class C girls basketball quarterfinals with a 53-40 victory over No. 14 Stillwater Saturday, Feb. 15, in Schodack.
The Wildcats built a 25-15 halftime lead and fended off several Stillwater charges in the third quarter before pulling away in the fourth quarter to secure a date with No. 6 Lake George in the quarterfinals Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Hoosic Valley Central School in Schaghticoke.
Lydia Chittenden led a balanced Maple Hill attack with 10 points. Karsyn Berger and Lauryn Smith each contributed eight points.

RENSSELAER – The Maple Hill girls basketball team jumped out to an 18-7 lead in the first quarter and fended off several Rensselaer rallies to defeat the Rams 56-45 on Senior Night Friday, Feb. 8.
The victory capped an undefeated league season for Maple Hill. The Wildcats now await their seeding for the Section 2 Class C tournament, which will be determined next week.

Maple Hill jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 66-43 victory over Albany Leadership Academy for Girls Friday, Feb. 1, in a Patroon Conference girls basketball game.
Stacia Coyne netted 15 points, and Callie Haller chipped in with 10 points for the Wildcats, who placed 10 players in the scoring column. Dayari Daniels had 17 points, and Jamira Galloway added 16 points for Albany Leadership.

Maple Hill used a 16-3 run in the third quarter to pull away for a 58-36 victory over Catskill Tuesday, Jan. 15, in a Patroon Conference girls basketball game.
Lydia Chittenden and Natasha Strock each scored 14 points for the Wildcats, who led 28-24 at halftime. Lauryn Smith contributed 10 points in the victory.

Maple Hill hosted its annual Coaches vs. Cancer Day Saturday, Jan. 5, with a full day of basketball games.
After the modified and junior varsity squads played, it was time for the varsity boys and girls teams to face Patroon Conference rival Rensselaer. The boys basketball team took the court first and pulled away for a 53-37 victory over the Rams.
Maple Hill grabbed a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and padded its advantage by outscoring Rensselaer 28-16 over the next two periods. The Wildcats’ defense played a major role, as it limited the Rams to a total of 13 field goals over the full four quarters. Maple Hill’s defense limited Greenville to less than seven points in each quarter as the Wildcats pulled away for a 40-15 victory over the Spartans Wednesday, Dec. 12, in a Patroon Conference girls basketball game.
Maple Hill had a difficult time pulling away from Greenville in the first half, but the Wildcats broke the game open with a 16-6 run in the third quarter that gave them a 28-13 lead.
Natasha Strock had seven points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots to lead a balanced attack for Maple Hill, which remained undefeated after five league games. Paige Bleau and Lydia Chittenden each contributed six points.
