WAC boys basketball: Northville, Fort Plain and Berne-Knox-Westerlo win crossover games

The Western Athletic Conference held crossover boys basketball games Saturday, Feb. 9, at Fulton Montgomery Community College.

In the first game of the triple header, Northville cruised past Middleburgh 62-37. The Falcons raced out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter and pulled away by outscoring the Knights 17-7 in the third quarter.

T.J. Wadsworth drained six three-pointers and finished with 21 points to lead Northville’s offense. Nate Reidell knocked down an additional four three-pointers on his way to a 17-point afternoon, and Jason Ellsworth added 14 points for the Falcons.

Scenes from WAC boys basketball: Schoharie goes on major run to upend Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons

SCHENECTADY – Schoharie outscored Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 28-8 in the fourth quarter to edge the Golden Knights 70-67 Tuesday, Feb. 5, in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game.

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons outscored Schoharie 20-9 in the third quarter to build a 59-42 advantage, but the Indians saved their best quarter for last to win for the seventh time in their last eight games.

Shane Helmstadt led four Schoharie players in double figures with 24 points. Josh Scheuer made four three-pointers and finished with 14 points, while Fletcher Griffin contributed 13 points and Skyler Jankowski added 10 points. WAC boys basketball: Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons pulls away from Northville

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons closed the game on a 23-11 run to pull away for a 70-50 victory over Northville in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Wednesday, Jan. 30.

The key to the Golden Knights’ success was in the paint, as Noah Foster and Rodney Parker dominated the Falcons. Foster poured in a game-high 28 points, while Parker contributed 18 points.

Scenes from WAC boys basketball: Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons defeats Fort Plain after 18-day delay

SCHENECTADY – After an 18-day delay due to a leaky roof, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons defeated Fort Plain 72-52 in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday, Jan. 26.

The Golden Knights built a 21-13 lead in the first quarter and broke the game open with a 21-point third quarter that put them ahead 53-36.

Rodney Parker had 22 points for ND-BG to lead three players in double digits. Noah Foster contributed 17 points, and Todd Williamson added 15 points.

Scenes from WAC boys basketball: Fonda-Fultonville pulls away from Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons

FONDA – Fonda-Fultonville outscored Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 33-19 over the course of the second and third quarters to defeat the Golden Knights 59-46 Friday, Jan. 18, in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game.

ND-BG contained Fonda-Fultonville’s leading scorer, Jackson Atty, to seven points, but several other Braves stepped up to propel their team to victory. Andrew Georgia netted 16 points, and John Mancini added 11 points for Fonda-Fultonville.

WAC boys basketball: Mayfield surges past Northville

Garrett Delaney led four Mayfield players in double figures with 18 points as the Panthers defeated Northville 64-46 Friday, Jan. 18, in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game.

Scenes from WAC boys basketball: Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons powers past Duanesburg

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons built a 14-5 lead in the first quarter and pulled away for a 75-61 victory over Duanesburg in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Schenectady.

Todd Williamson led four Golden Knights in double digits with 22 points. Lorenzo Marchisio scored 18 points, while Noah Foster contributed 13 points and Rodney Parker added 12 points.

Jakob Stahl drained four three-pointers on his way to an 18-point night for Duanesburg. Zack Gamache was equally proficient from beyond the three-point arc, as all 15 of his points came from five three-pointers. Brian Mallory added 12 points for the Eagles. Scenes from WAC boys basketball: Jakob Stahl leads Duanesburg past Berne-Knox-Westerlo

DELANSON – Jakob Stahl had himself a game for the Duanesburg boys basketball team.

Stahl made four three-pointers on his way to a 25-point evening as he led the Eagles to a 53-43 victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo Friday, Jan. 4, in a Western Athletic Conference contest.

Scenes from Western Athletic Conference boys basketball: Canajoharie gets past Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons

SCHENECTADY – Canajoharie scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to pull out an 82-77 victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Luke VanSlyke powered the visiting Cougars with 35 points, including three field goals from behind the three-point arc. Max Prime contributed 14 points, and Nick Shariff added 11 points for Canajoharie.

Western Athletic Conference boys basketball: Middleburgh edges Northville; Fonda-Fultonville wins on the road

Middleburgh edged Northville 54-52 in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Andrew Johns drained four three-pointers on his way to a 24-point performance for Middleburgh. Brendan Henry contributed 12 points, and Will Bankston added eight points for the Knights.
