Bella Realbuto served up five aces as part of a strong team effort in Tamarac’s 3-0 victory over Mechanicville Wednesday, Oct. 17, in a Wasaren League girls volleyball match.
Realbuto finished with 14 service points for the Bengals (8-6 league, 9-6 overall), who won by scores of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-18. Kerianne Bugbee had 16 service points and four kills, while Francesca DiScanio contributed nine digs on defense and two kills on offense. Brionna Daniels added six digs.
Taylor Grayson had six kills and five service points for Mechanicville (8-5, 10-5), and Cialeigh Lyons added five service points and nine assists.
Stillwater dropped the first game, but won the next three to defeat Tamarac 3-1 Friday, Oct. 12, in a Wasaren League girls volleyball match.
Kyleigh Frank had seven kills and five blocks to lead the Warriors, who won the final three games 25-15, 25-16 and 25-10 after losing the first game 25-21. Molly Sheehan contributed five kills, and Skylar Brennan added 11 assists.
Catrina Murphy paced Tamarac with five kills and five blocks. Kerianne Bugbee chipped in with three kills and five blocks, and Guiliana DiCarlo recorded 13 assists.
Stillwater raised its record to 11-2 in the Wasaren League and 13-2 overall. Tamarac dips to 7-6 and 8-6.
Tamarac improved its record to 8-5 with a 3-1 victory over Waterford-Halfmoon Wednesday, Oct. 10, in a Wasaren League girls volleyball match.
Tamarac took the first two games 25-23 and 25-13. Waterford-Halfmoon rallied to win the third game 25-19 before Tamarac ended the match with a 25-13 victory in the fourth game.
Francesca DiScanio and Brionna Daniels each recorded 12 service points for the Bengals. Daniels served up five aces along the way, while DiScanio contributed five kills and nine defensive digs. Bella Realbuto had nine service points, nine kills and 12 digs.
Ayden Richards recorded 16 assists and four service points for Waterford-Halfmoon, and Bre DeFruscio added four service points and three blocks.
CLUMS CORNERS – Tamarac pulled out a 3-1 victory over Hoosic Valley in a tightly-contested Wasaren League girls volleyball match Wednesday, Oct. 3.
The Bengals took the first set 25-21, but the Indians responded by edging Tamarac 28-26 in the second set. Tamarac won the third set 25-15 and then fended off Hoosic Valley 25-23 in the fourth set to wrap up the victory.
Gabby Cellucci had 16 service points, six kills and 12 digs to lead Tamarac. Chezzie DiScanio contributed 10 service points, three kills and nine digs, and Giuliana DiCarlo added 11 service points and 25 assists.
Samantha Finkle had four kills, four digs and three blocks for Hoosic Valley. Shannon Brown recorded 14 service points and three kills, while Katelyn St. Gelais chipped in with eight digs and a kill.
Tamarac defeated Berlin 25-5, 25-11 and 25-12 in a Wasaren League girls volleyball match Friday, Sept. 28.
Jordyn Sorel recorded 21 service points, including five aces, to pace the Bengals (5-4 league, 6-4 overall). Catrina Murphy had five aces among her 10 service points, while Gabriella Cellucci contributed eight kills. Gianna Bucciero added seven assists, one kill and one block.
In a Wasaren League girls volleyball match that was closer than it appeared in the scorebook, Tamarac swept Cambridge 3-0 Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Each set was closer than the last, with the Bengals (4-4 league, 5-4 overall) winning by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-21.
Bella Realbuto had nine service points, six defensive digs and three kills to lead Tamarac. Catrina Murphy contributed 12 service points, four digs and two blocks, while Giuliana DiCarlo added 14 assists and 10 service points.
JoJo Griffith recorded eight service points, two kills and six digs for Cambridge. Adrianna Rourke chipped in with nine service points and six assists.
