Golf: Albany Academy runs away with Colonial Council tournament title

RAVENA – Albany Academy for Boys eased to the Colonial Council Golf Championships team title Friday, Sept. 21, at Sycamore Country Club.

The Cadets finished the 18-hole tournament with a team score of 307. Ichabod Crane was second with a score of 346, while Catholic Central and LaSalle Institute tied for third place with a score of 357.

Albany Academy’s Chris Huban and Sam Gerdeman tied for medalist honors, as they each carded a score of 76. Albany Academy’s Ryan Warnick was third with a score of 77, and teammate Nick Lyons placed fourth with a score of 78.

Trevor Wolfe led Ichabod Crane with a round of 80, while Jack Mattfield paced Catholic Central with a score of 83. Paul Howard recorded a score of 86 for LaSalle.
