RAVENA – Less than 24 hours after handing Ichabod Crane its first Colonial Council loss in nearly two years, the Schalmont boys soccer team kept the momentum going with an 8-1 league victory over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Thursday, Sept. 13.
Luca Santabarbara recorded a hat trick, and Gabe Comenzo contributed a goal and three assists for the Sabres, who jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead. Jared Smith chipped in with two goals, while Matt Horwedel added a goal and two assists. Ryan Edwards also tallied, while Mattia Viscusi and Andrew Kusek provided assists.
Bryan Schwabrow scored on a second half penalty kick, and goalkeeper Shane Racey made 14 saves for RCS.
