Adirondack League girls soccer: Lake George defeats Bolton/Warrensburg; Whitehall shuts out Granville

Two goals late in the first half provided Lake George with some breathing room on its way to a 5-1 victory over Bolton/Warrensburg Thursday, Sept. 6, in an Adirondack League girls soccer game.

Bolton/Warrensburg pulled within a goal in the 25th minute when Aubrey Ranous scored unassisted, but Sarah Kohls knocked in a penalty kick and Katie O’Donnell tallied off a feed from Gabby Marchello in the final eight minutes of the half to put Lake George ahead 4-1.

Marchello scored in the sixth minute to get the Warriors on the board, and Gabby Weidner tallied off Kylie Mann’s assist in the 20th minute to make the score 2-0. Rachel Jaeger added an unassisted goal in the second half.

Lake George goalkeeper Samantha Jeckel made four saves, while Bolton/Warrensburg netminder Jordan Barker stopped six shots.

In another Adirondack League game, Whitehall shut out Granville 3-0. Zoe Eggleston opened the scoring for the Railroaders in the first half, and Jessica Moore added two goals – one off a penalty kick, and the other on an individual effort.

Granville goalkeeper Lindsy Hilder had 10 saves.
