Capital District High School Hockey League: Albany Academy makes successful return to Section 2 with victory over Capital District Jets

COLONIE – Albany Academy marked its return to Section 2 hockey by beating the Capital District Jets 7-1 in a Capital District High School Hockey League game Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Albany County Hockey Facility.

Connor Momrow had two goals and three assists to lead the Cadets (1-0-0 league, 1-1-0 overall), who jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period. Dan Moshier also tallied twice, and Ethan Duda added a goal and two assists. Noah Savastio scored Capital District’s lone goal less than five minutes into the third period.

After a two-decade absence, Albany Academy added a CDHSHL team to its hockey program. The Cadets are also fielding a New England Prep League squad this season, as they have every year since leaving Section 2 in the late 1990s.
