The top four seeds in the Section 2 Class C boys soccer playoffs advanced to the semifinal round with quarterfinal victories Monday, Oct. 22.
No. 1 Lake George (18-0-0) got past No. 8 Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 3-1, as Alex Leonelli, Ethan Knauf and Justin Blanco tallied for the Warriors. Lake George goalkeeper Mason Flatley had several saves, including a key stop late in the second half. Wil Lawson notched Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ goal.

The Warriors will meet No. 4 Mayfield (15-3-0) in Thursday’s semifinal at Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam. The Panthers edged No. 5 Waterford-Halfmoon 3-2 on Britain Goodemote’s overtime goal. Anthony Yuret gave Mayfield a 2-1 lead early in the second half when he rebounded a missed shot from Josh Wasson, but Tyler Galarneau netted the equalizer for Waterford-Halfmoon following a long injury timeout.
Dylan Bumpus had a goal and an assist for Mayfield, while Galarneau tallied twice for Waterford-Halfmoon (11-5-2).
The other semifinal match-up Thursday pits No. 2 Maple Hill (15-2-1) against No. 3 Stillwater (14-4-0). Maple Hill advanced with a 5-0 victory over No. 7 Doane Stuart (9-6-1), while Stillwater defeated No. 6 Greenwich 5-1.
Dom Herschoff recorded a natural hat trick in the first half to give Maple Hill a 3-0 halftime lead. Seth Roberts tallied twice in the second half to cap the scoring.
AJ Rymph gave Greenwich (9-7-2) a 1-0 lead over Stillwater five minutes into the first half, but Grant Baker knocked home the tying and go-ahead goals to give the Warriors the momentum. Baker then assisted on Scott Travis’ goal to make it 3-1 at the half.
Cooper Monast and Jake Zdonick tallied in the second half for Stillwater, which had split its Wasaren League season series with Greenwich.

Maple Hill vs. Stillwater – 5 p.m.
